Emergency Arrangements
Whenever possible please contact us about urgent treatment
during normal surgery hours. If you need to be seen the same
day, please get in touch as early in the day as possible. If an
emergency arises out of hours please telephone the Primary Care
Trust.
Replacement Free Of Charge
If
you are 18 or over and a filling, veneer, inlay or crown
provided by us under the NHS within the last 12 months has to be
replaced, you will not be charged if you return to us, unless:
·
The treatment was temporary
·
It was provided against our advice
·
The replacement is necessary because of an accident
·
A different treatment is necessary because a satisfactory
replacement is not possible.
The NHS cover does not apply to any private treatment you may
have. Your dentist will explain the procedure for private
replacements.
Dental
Treatment Charges
We
would like you to understand the treatment being offered and any
charge which may apply. On the day of your exam your dentist
will give you an NHS treatment plan stating what will be done
and how much it will be. Within 2 months of completion of the
course of treatment below, should you require further NHS
treatment in either the same or lower charge band, you will not
normally need to pay again.
For a private price list please ask at reception.
Paying For Private Treatment
If
you wish to have private treatment done, on the day of your
examination you will need to pay the full amount if under £100
or 50% of the treatment cost if over £100. The remaining balance
will be collected on your next appointment.
Paying For NHS Treatment
Patient’s ages 18and over normally pay charges for NHS
treatment.
There is no charge if you are:
·
Pregnant or have had a child in the last 12 months
·
If you are aged 18 and in full time education
·
If you or your partner are named on a current HC2 NHS charges
certificate
·
If you or your partner are named on a valid NHS tax credit
exemption certificate
·
If you or your partner receive income support, income-based
jobseeker’s allowance or pension credit guarantee
If
you are not in any of these groups, but have a low income, you
may still be able to get help with NHS charges. You can get a
claim form HC1 from any Social security office or from
reception.
Please note: the following benefits on their own, do not entitle
you to help with costs: incapacity benefit, disability living
allowance, pension credit savings credit and contribution-based
jobseeker’s allowance.
Government NHS patient charges have been changed. If you pay NHS
charges, instead of paying a proportion of the cost of your
treatment, you will pay one of four fixed charges relating to
the type of care and treatment you have had.
